Problem solving and my new career! or not.

I have now talked to both of my advisors and they both really support me in doing the study abroad. They are behind me all the way. Which is awesome, might I add. I really want to do it next fall, I can't do it in the spring semester cause that is Mike's senior year, def can't miss that. If I do it, being away from Mike will def be hard again. I don't want to be away from him for that long, but at the same time, I really want to do this abroad thing. So, I have decided to take him with me. I will carry him in my pocket and he can come with me wherever I go! There, problem solved! I am so smart.

So I was just talking to Londyn about not doing homework and if I could come up with a way to market it, I could be rich! What a great idea! I am going to do it now. All I have to do is come up with some reason that people would need me to not do their homework for them. And voila! Richness for me! I could way over charge peopl eto make them think that what I was doing...or not doing...was well worth the money. Eh, maybe not, it would probably get pretty boring, doing nothing all the time. Maybe that isn't the best career choice after all. It was an idea. Oh well.

Cute kiddies and Deutchland?

I have gone to Northfield Elementary three times now, and it is great. The kids are so cute. :) I have only done one on one work so far, but that is fine, I still love it. I work yesterday with a little girl, Rachell, who is really struggling in math. The poor thing, it jsut doesn't work with her. She just cannot understand the concepts or anything. It is a great experience though. I have to try to go back and remember what you know math-wise when you are 8 years old. I mean, to us, 10 + 10 is simply 20. No question, it just comes naturally, but for this poor girl, it doesn't.

So I had to leave to go to class, but I am back now. I also went to the school again. Worked with Rachell, she is a cutie. We did reading this time. Not bad at all. Hard not to correct every mistake they make though. :) I really like my teacher that I am working with too. She is really nice and down to earth, and I think she is a great teacher.

So...I may study abroad next year. I want to go to Germany. I have talked with Professor Byrne and I just have to talk to Professor Bandy and hopefully it will work out. I really hope I can do this. woo! There are two programs I am looking at, and they both look pretty good.

Well, I just remembered that I have to go to Res Life and pick up some stuff, so I will have to catch you all later! :D

Yay Vermont!

Well, things are still going pretty well way out here in the land of Vermont. The trees are just starting to change and in 2 weeks or so it is going to be stunning. I can't wait! That is one of the best parts about this state by far.

The weather has been great, nice fall temperatures, and sunny. I got my lunch and Mike and I went and ate outside today. That was great. The grass here is so nice and green and pretty and nobody uses it! I mean, there are parts we can't go on cause of the corps stuff, but there are a lor of really nice places that are fine to use and no one does. Kinda sad. It won't last too long either, before the snow may come in and bury everything.

I started going into a classroom for my Learning Strategies class. I am going to Northfield Elementary in a 3rd grade class. I started on Monday and will be going every Monday, Tuesday, and Friday afternoons for an hour or so until mid October. I think it is going to be a lot of fun! I get to help out the teacher with whatever she needs help with and maybe towards the end do a little student teaching. I am really excited to be in a school and see what it is like from the "teacher's point of view".

I am still shooting and I will be competing this year. In fact, our first match is the weekend after next. We are shooting against USP, and it will be my first match. oooo exciting! I think it will be fun. Hopefully I will be more motivated than I was last year, but now that I am paying more attention to what I am doing, I think it will get better.

I got a laptop!

Yup! I sold my old computer to my friend and bought an HP Pavilion. No more travel problems! I love it. So nice and small....and my desk is so much cleaner now, it's wonderful. Classes are going pretty well, I got credit for one semester of World Lit, which was awesome, and all my other classes are fine. I will be going into an elementary classroom in about 2 weeks I think and I am so excitd for that. :) Mike and I had our one year on the 4th. That was awesome, we went sat and sun to state parks and drove around and took pictures. It was a blast.

The RA thing is going pretty well, hopefully it won't be too bad this year *knock on wood*. I already have my problems with it, like feeling like a jerk. I really need to get to know my floor better, figure out what to do for my spontaneous, but it is hard, cause people are always gone and doing their own thing. That and I have yet to think of any good ideas for a spontaneous to do besides going to a sports game, but I don't know bout that yet. If you have any ideas, I would love to hear them.

I am sure more has happened, but my brain's level of functioning isn't quite up to par yet....btw, Steppi, I am SOOOOO jealous that you got to go to Estes this weekend! Did you see the dancers? You had better have gone to their tent.....or I will be very sad.. :( hehe ;)

Classes started this week, and so far they seem pretty good! Except world lit, but I am in the process of getting out of that...attempting to get IB credit for it. I have had enoug world lit thank you. I am taking Bio, ew, but Amanda-the Patterson RA-is in it with me, so it won't be so bad. Other than that all my classes are Psych or Edu. I have intro to social psych, Preface I of psych, Foundations of education III, and Learning strategies. In both of my edu classes, I have to get "field experience". We are actually going to be going into classrooms and working with kids! I am so excited!!! :D I can't wait!

This weekend (tomorrow to be exact) is one year for Mike and I. :) I am so happy! *dances* No big plans, but we are gonna think of something to do off campus which should be fun. I am so in love. :D hehe.

Not too much happening out here, it was ridaculously humid the last few days....ugh. I felt like I was walking through a sauna. Luckily it is better now, but it is a little chilly. Oh well, I don't think Vermont is ever normal when it comes to weather. Colorado may be schizo, but Vermont is just plain wierd!
