Awesome Power. (awesome not being a good thing.)
I have just experienced one of the most terrifying things in my life. Mike and I were at his house just off campus, getting ready to leave when his roommate said to look out the window. Glancing through the blinds we saw that a house but a couple hundred feet down the road a house was completely engulfed in flames. It was...I have no words to explain it. I started to cry. All I could think was that someone's life was being destroyed in a matter of minutes. Gone. We later found out that some Norwich guys live there. I don't even know if everyone is OK. I hope so.
I have never experienced something so devastating so close up before. Fire is such a scary and uncontrollable phenomenon. There is not much you can do. It can destroy things so quickly, it is amazing.
All I can think now is how thankful I am for all that I have right now.

Sounds awful! I photographed a car on fire near my home and fire is serious business.
