yay for school!

Not something you hear very often, but I am talking about my first-graders that I am working with! They are so great and I am having a wonderful time! :D I taught my first lesson with them last week using my Shel Silverstein book Runny Babbit, and it went well. I was happy.

It has been pretty cold lately. Sunny, which is nice, but deceiving because it looks warmer than it really is. The wind chill was -15 over the weekend! Brr. We still have no snow though. All of the Nor'easters you may have heard about totally missed us. NY and parts of NH got pounded, but we got nada. Kinda sad cause now I can't use my new snowshoes. :(

Anyway, everything is going well. V-day was fun, I got sunflowers and a little box of chocolate and we went to Applebee's for dinner. It was a nice chill evening, nothing extravagant. It had been a busy day and it was nice to go to dinner and just relax. :)

Not much else going on here....Happy President's Day. :)

A much needed update

Ok, so there are some new things.

First, I talked to my dad a week or so ago and he started the conversation with "you know how I said that things between Sally and I wouldn't be changing for a while?...well, things are changing." Turns out they are both selling each of their houses and buying a house together. wow. Kinda took me off guard. I seem OK with it for now, but I think it will be a lot wierder when I go to see him and they are living together. At least I like Sally. :)

Also, I got the results from my PRAXIS exam today! The PRAXIS II exam is a test that we have to pass here in order to do our student teaching. I took it at home over Christmas break. I got an envelope in my mailbox today from ETS, the people who give the PRAXIS. It was a certificate for getting a score in the top 15% of all the scores from previous tests! I hadn't even seen my scores yet! :) So I found professor Byrne later this afternoon and got my scores and I got a 183. The scores you can get range from 100-200 and I got a 183. :D Today was a happy day. hehe.

AND! Melanna has tickets to come out here in March! yaaaaay! I can't wait! Now I have to start planning things for us to do. :)

woot.
