Dark and Full of Music, the Perfect Club

I went to a Jazz club last night with my mom. One of the students in her sewing class was singing there last night with her band and we went there to hear her. She was amazing! The band is called the Wil Key Band, you should check it out. (www.wil-key.com)
She is the main singer, with her husband on the keyboard, a bassist, guitarist, and drummer. The guitarist is the only white guy in the band and he is amazing! And oh-my-goodness can Kama sing! She has an amazing voice! She sang a few India Arie songs and they did a cover of a Stevie Wonder song. Then they sang a couple songs that she and her husband had wrote. It was brilliant. And the club was an awesome place. You walk in one the bar side and it is dark, sort of modernistic meets the 50's. Really neat. Then you walk through this doorway and go into the restaurant, one smallish room with tables and booths, also dark and a stage at the far wall. There weren't that many people there, which is too bad because they were really good, but most of the people who were there were friends of the band members.

I wish there were more of these little comfy clubs nearby. I would love a place to just be able to go and hang out, listen to music, just chill on the couch with friends, read, anything. But out number of little bookstores or clubs (not dance clubs) nearby my house. There used to be a really cute little used bookstore down the street from me. i really liked it until I realized that the owner was a pedophile. ew. He once asked my brother about me after I hadn't been in there for almost a YEAR! AH! eeeww... so , the name changed quickly to the "dirty-old-man-bookstore" eventhough the guy was only middleagedish, but the "dirty-middle-agedish-guy bookstore" doesn't have quite the same ring to it. But, thank God, it closed down sometime while I was at school. I am sad that the bookstore is gone, cause it was really cute, but I was not exactly eager to go in there. And to think I was going to try to work there. *shudder*

So, no luck on a car yet, I looked at one, but it had an oil leak and it was only front wheel drive. I am hoping for AWD cause of the oh-so-loverly snow in good 'ol VT. So the search continues. I need to find a smashing deal like my brother did, but I think that may take a little longer. *sigh* As long as I get one before mid-Augustish. Stupid money. psht.

Time to get back to work! yay!
