Lotsa Shtuff

Let's see....this weekend was good. Mike's parents came up and we went up to Stowe. We drove up to this place that Mike and I had gone earlier and loved. It is up in the hills and the road is
skinny and curvy and really awesome. There are HUGE rocks all over the place and we just rock scrambled, in little caves, it was a ton of fun. I love that stuff.

You may want to sit down for this, but I have actually been watching baseball! I know, I know. So here basball is big. Esp the Yankees and the Red Socks. And it just so happened that they were playing each other to get into the World Series. The last time the Sox had been to the World Series was in '86 so this was a big deal anyway, but then they were playing the Yankees! Bigger deal! So...I watched Game 7 when the Sox one and made it to the World Series. That was an awesome game. So then I decided that I would watch the World Series because the last time the Sox WON the World Series was in 1918, so if they win now, it would be crazy. See, there is this "curse" on the Sox because the owner of the Sox in 1918 sold Babe Ruth to the Yankees in order to have enough money to pay for his wife to be in this play. So he sold Babe Ruth, who was pissed about being sold, and ever since, the Sox have not won a World Series. Anyway, it is huge out here. So I am jumping onto the bandwagon and am a Sox fan. I have to say it is fun to watch too. And just to be all American, I had apple pie while watching the game. :) So yea, I am watching sports. Me. Woah.

This weekend is our mid-semester break (ie no school friday) and Mike and I are going to Boston/Salem for the weekend. We are going to stay with Mike's friend Bryan and hang out with him and his gf Emily all weekend. I am so excited and Salem for Halloween will be really awesome. I can't wait. woo!!!

Tonight is the Trick or Treat night in my dorm and another dorm for all the kids of Northfield. I think it will be a lot of fun. I decorated my hall with one of my residents yesterday and it looks really neat. we have candy and hopefully we will get a bunch of cute little kiddies tonight. :)

I should prolly do some homework now so I don't have to worry about it when the kiddies are here. Tata!

GammaGamps!

This weekend was really good. It was Parent's Weekend here at Norwich and my Grandma and Grandpa drove up from PA. I hadn't seen them since May, so it waas really nice to see them again. And Mike got to meet them for the first time as well, which went really well. :) We went to dinner Friday after giving them a tour of campus. We went to the Chef's Table, the New England Culinary Institute restuarant in Montpelier. It was really good. Oh yeah, we went to a maple sugaring farm right before dinner too. That was fun, I never knew how they made maple sugar/syrup before.

Saturday we drove up to Burlington. I had mentioned that I wanted to get a rug, so we spent a while trying to find one and we did! It is very pretty and it makes my room much cozier than it was. Grandpa bought it for me too, which was very unexpected, but appreciated. :) We had lunch and then drove to the Lake Champlain Maritime Museum. It was a small, but really neat museum right on the lake. It had all sorts of boat stuff, including a restored boat that I had to prevent Mike from drooling all over and trying to steal. ;) They also had a replica of the Lois McClure and the Philadelphia II there. Those were neat! The Philadelphia was a 54' boat with I think 3 good-sized cannons on it and then we found out that it had a crew of 40 people when they used it in 1776! That boat does NOT look like it could hold 40 people. So that was a lot of fun, interesting stuff! Then we drove back to Barre and went to dinner at Sambel's, a little restaurant in the old Barre Airport building. It is the wierdest restaurant setup I have ever seen, but the food is really good! We just came back to campus after that and Grandma and Grandpa went back to their B&B. Overall, it was a great weekend. Nice and relaxing and I ate so much food...it was awesome. :D

Yay! Happy weekend.

mmmmm......cheesey poofs...

I am staying on the rifle team. Unless coach kicks me off cause I can't shoot in the next 2 matches...oops. We'll see how he reacts to that. :)

The leaves are amazing here. It is just about peak for the foliage and it is amazing. I think I will always be in awe over the vivid colors out here every fall. Mike and I were going to go walking around Northfield yesterday to take pictures, but it was cloudy. We went to Subway for lunch and then decided to go into the Northfield Bookstore. Great place. It is this teeny little store in the main square. A good amount of books too. I was looking around and found a Monty Python book of the actual scripts from Flying Circus skits and I ended up getting it for Mike cause he wants to give it to Bryan. :) It turns out Mike had never been to a used bookstore before! I almost passed out right then and there. Anway, we were looking around some more and what did I find up at the front? oh, yeah, records! I know! How cool is that?? So, of course, I HAVE to look throught them and I end up getting 2-Survivor "Eye of the Tiger" (that's right Lakewood guys, no joke) and Men at Work. I was so excited. Unfortunately, they aren't hiring at all. poo. I still think I am going to be going there quite a bit. :)

Yesterday was a lot of fun. It was really overcast, which was too bad for the pictures we never took, but the weather was beautiful. Not to hot, not to cold, just nice cooler fall weather. And there was a football game,. It was Trustees weekend so there was stuff all around the football field. It felt almost like a real college! ;) That was really neat.

I also watched the Boondock Saints last night. I had never seen it, good movie! I really liked it. Lots of blood and guns though.

I am really liking this year better than last year. I mean, last year was pretty good, but I am really enjoying this year better. It could be cause I am not sick, I like my classes, and I just seem to be happier, but I am not positive. :)

Ok, well, I should be writing a paper righ now, so I guess I should do that...

*sigh* what to do...

I am so confused. I don't know what to do. I guess I should explain. I am on the rifle team here at school like I was last year. And like last year, I have no motivation. I really like the team, all great people, I am the only civi now, though. And I like shooting (air rifle anyway, not too keen about small bore). But...coach works and can't get to our 4-7 practice until 530 or 6 and even when he is there he doesn't do much coaching. If you show him your targets and you did poorly on a few bulls, all he says is either "did you pull the trigger only when you knew it was a 10?" or "Make sure you follow through". Well, when you are doing that and you still don't have any consistency, it doesn't help much. I understand that this can be a hard sport to coach because it is individual and mostly mental, it is still frustrating. I never want to go to practice, and I never eat with the team, cause most of the time I grab Mike on my way and we eat together.
I have no idea what to do. The way it sounds, most would prolly think that I should quit. But for some reason I am having a lot of trouble doing that. I almost feel like I am still here because I really want the t-shirts and warm-ups we were going to get this year. And that doesn't seem right either.
Oh well, I think I am going to talk to coach today and we will see what he says. oh well.
