A shot in the...well, it wasn't really dark, but it was kinda warm...

I got to go on my first away match with the team this weekend. We shot at MIT against them, John Jay, and the Coast Guard Academy. It was a match called the Bean Pot, where you win, well, a bean pot. We defended it this year and successfully took it home with us again. :) We shot really well in smallbore despite the fact that we can't pratice that anymore. You see, there were lead tests done in the range as I have said before. There were three tests total and we did indeed fail, yes, all three. The legal limit is 50 parts per million. The last two tests we scored 260 and 250 ppm. ouch. No more smallbore for us. Kinda scary in a we-may-all-be-sterile-and-going-crazy-from-lead-poisoning kind of way. At the match though, I only shot air (which is fine cause I don't like smallbore) and I shot a personal best of 561 out of 600. I was pretty happy. I decided I was going to try to aim for All American my senior year, for which you have to have a match average of 580. Who knows if it will happen, but I can try.

In other news, the sun was shining yesterday AND it was sunny! It was about 27 I think and let me tell you, that is quite the heat wave. People were going around with no coats on! It was so nice! Vermont really gets you used to the cold. Saturday night it was really nice out. Not too cold, no snow, clear, over all really nice. We looked up the temperature when we got in and it was 13. Yes, 13 felt nice here. It is 13 right now at 1124am and it is supposed to get up to 22. This weather is really a nice change. 28 tomorrow is just amazing. When you go to class in the morning and it is -20, it can get a bit depressing.

Maude is doing well. I am going to see if Mike can take a better picture than what I have and then I will attempt to try to find out how to post it here. She is so cute. hehe.

Well, it is time for me to dry my hair and finish getting dressed so I can go to lunch because after 3 straight hours of class starting at 8 this morning I am hungry! rar. :)

Maude!

I got my rat! Her name is maude. hehe. She is so cute. We got them last week for Learning and Motivation. We will be working with our rat all semester teaching them to do different things like a rope climb, 5 yard dash, 5 yard dash with hurdles, tight rope walk, and weight lifting. I can't wait. At the end of the semester there is a competition, Rat Rampage. It used to be called the Rat Olympics, but the Olympic committee got mad and made them change. lol. Anyway, all the rats compete and I guess some of them get on TV. Very cool and I am very excited.

Well, I don't have much time, I need to do hw before a thing with the commandant and pres. Maybe more later!

School...fun....what??

I have Learning and Motivation Lab today in a half an hour and I can't wait. We are training rats and we get them today. I have never been so excited for a class before. I think it is going to be an amazing experience, not to mention the fact that it will help me a lot for teaching.

In general, I am actually excited for most of my classes this semester! I really like being able to go to class and enjoy being there. Not counting every minute until the clock hits the right time. Getting really interested in what I am learning and not minding the assignments cause they can be fun and interesting. I spent enough time in high school dreading class and assignments, procrastinating until the last minute to prevent me from having to think about it. Not to say I don't ever procrastinate now, but I am not nearly as bad I was and it is not always to avoid doing to project because of dislike for it. I am actually feeling motivated for class. I can take what I learn and directly apply it. Last semester I learned how to write a lesson plan. So I did, and then I taught it in a 3rd grade classroom. It was awesome. I got to use what I learned. Right then! I didn't have to wait years until I got into my career to realize when I might use the things I am learning about. Now, of course, not all of my classes are like that. Bio isn't exactly my favorite class, but it could be worse. I don't apply what I learn, but some of it can be interesting, yes, I admit. Math on the other hand is just plain retarded. I am stuck in MA102 Math for the Liberal Arts. STUPID. We will eventually get to graph theory and normal distribution. Yes, the stuff we did with Craft in Junior and Senior year. woot. This sucks. If this retarded school wasn't blind as to what IB was maybe I could get credit for the 6, yes 6, I got on the Studs exam. But no! LAME! Anyway.

It is cold here, but I am suprisingly happy. Good.

Oh yea, before break people came and did a lead test down at the range to see what the lead content in the air was. Well, apparently we failed. But they cleaned the range, it is amazing. There used to be a layer of dirt/dust/and probably lead on pretty much every surface. But they cleaned it all up really well and it looks really nice. So coach convinced them to do another test after the range was cleaned. So they came back monday and we shot from 6-8pm so they could test the air. If we fail for small bore (.22) again, we aren't allowed to shoot it anymore. And if we fail for air as well, I guess we won't be able to shoot at all. To be honest, I don't really like doing the small bore and wouldn't be too broken hearted if we could only shoot air. The results come in tomorrow I think, so well find out then how quickly we are going to die from lead poisoning. lol.

Ok. enough for now. Maybe more in a day or so. woot.

P.S. Send warm weather and sunshine this way.

Voila!

I know you have al been on the edge of your seats waiting to hear the outcome of this lost and lonely bag. Well....I got it. yay! Who knows where it was but a few days later it was delivered and I was very happy. You see, my bunny and George (the dog) where in that suitcase (for those of you who know me well, you all know who bunny and George are). And I must say I am quite glad to have them back, as well as my new pants! :)

I came back to good 'ol Norwich on Sat and classes started today, yes in NU style, they started on a holiday-MLK Jr Day. Great. Anyway, classes all seem pretty good, Bio is, well..bio...but the only one I am really NOT looking forward to is math. It just seems pointless to me. But I will survive. Go me. Nothing else realy new here, cold and cloudly. And VT, the only place you will see "Bitterly Cold" on the forcast. They even have a picture of a really cold looking guy walking down the street. ha, kinda amusing in a sick and cold way.

A few days before Mike ane I came back up to NU, we went to Odiorne Point on the ocean in NH. It was really foggy and there were kinda big waves and I got some cool pics. If I can ever figure out how to, I will post some. The ocean is so cool.

Well off to find a work study job and then to practice. woop.

Where oh where did it go?

I flew back yesterday from home to Manchester, New Hampshire. I am staying with Mikey and yhis mommy for 4 days or so until Sat when we drive back up to *shudder* Norwich. The happy part is that I am with Mike again, cause I really missed him, but the bad news is that United decided to lose my bags. I got one delivered this morning, but the other didn't. So I called the number from my claim paper and they said they gave both bags to the delivery service. So I called the delivery service and they said they only were given one bag. great. So I called the airline people again and they called the office at the airport. No one was there, but they are supposed to call me. Nothing yet. I want my bag! It has bunny in it! Ah! noooo....so sad.
Other than that, my trip was fine, the flight from Dulles was delayed, they were probably trying to think of some creative thing to do to lose my bags. I got here are only had to borrow pj pants from Mike's mom and socks, otherwise I had clothes to wear. Well, I got a sweater from her for xmas (really pretty blue from woolworth, and it fits really well) which gave me a clean shirt for today. :) At least I have one bag so I have some clean clothes. I also got green chucks from Mike! yaaay! They are so pretty. :D woot.

Ok, so after reading steppi and eleanor's blogs I decided to try a resolution thing. So thinking to myself about what I could try to do this year, I realized that I am either too lazy or stubborn or something to actually keep any resolutions. So...I thought I would try the little boxy ones they had.

In the year 2005 I resolve to:
Fart in public.

Get your resolution here

This didn't impress me much. So I tried again.

In the year 2005 I resolve to:
Spend more time snuggling puppies.

Get your resolution here

This one I think I could handle. A lack of puppies at Norwich could be a problem. But that only means I am going to have to smuggle little puppies into my dorm. Darn! hehe....

So I guess reslutions may not be my thing, but oh well.

finally. I know.

Ok ok I know it has been a while. I am home for break and it is great to be back in sunshine and open space. Vermont is pretty and all, but the wide openness of grand ol' CO is just so perfect. :) yay. So my xmas was good...I got a Navy peacoat from dad which i really wanted. It is so warm...:D I aso got 3 copies of the Wizard of Oz...apparently it made an impression on my xmas list. I did get to return 2 of them and I got Waking Ned Divine and Delovely. Woot! My mommy made me footie pajamas too, very excited about those. They are so comfy. Steppi really wants to see me bust some people while on duty in them. hehe.

I had a little New Years shindig, it was fun. Mels, Steppie, Emily, Eleanor, Sabrinah, Londyn, Ian, and Clay were there. We just hung out and watched some of Steppi's wierd and disturbing show "Colorful". But then we got to watch The Point! Yay! She got it for her b-day, but waited till I was home to watch it. I have it on CD, but the movie is soooo wierd! man. So steppi, londyn, ian and I stayed up till about 515 talking a stuff; Ian and Londyn gave each other bak rubs the whole night! rar. ;) teehee. so cute.

I have been just hangin out a lot this break. It is nice not to have a lot to do. It is kinda wierd though cause it feels like I have a ton to do, but at the same time I have nothing to do. It is the same with the break feeling like it is flying by, but I haven't been home tht long really. strange. hrm.

I am in Boulder right now with Steppie. We were going to get some lunch with one of her friends until she got a call telling her that she was supposed to cover and DJ this afternoon. oopsey. So we are in the 1190 sttion now and chillin while she DJs away. It is cool. I think I would do the NU radio station if it was not so lame. The DJs change a lot and the music isn't always that good. And I dunno if the people up there would like some wierd music I have from steppi that I would play.

Anyway, I fly back on the 11th to see Mikey! Yay! I can't wait to see him again, woot! We don't start until the 17th, so we will have just under a week to hang out and relax and stuff before we head back to the icy darkness of Norwich. :) Well, I am off to look for music for steppi! woot!
